If I could add one more...."if there is a cauldron of fire during a fight scene, eventually that cauldron of fire will be pushed over for no apparent reason".
Maybe there could be an exception, "The Warlord" film. There, the little man tries to betray the good guys, but he certainly pays for that and certainly everyone soon forget him.

All too true. Well done.
From what film and what actor is Rule #1?
Absolutely correct, each and every one.
Anonymous, that's Steve Reeves in THE LAST DAYS OF POMPEII. In fact, the three first listings are from that film.

I'll add the cauldron one the next time around
Another rule.....a man with a beard but no mustache is EVIL.
This is wonderful - very funny - and so true!!!

Peplum bodies are somehow wonderfully tanned overall, regardless of being partially covered.
One never expects to see tan lines in Peplum films.
