Reg Park as Hercules in HERCULES AND THE CAPTIVE WOMEN (1961)
I recently saw an upload with the disastrous US Blu-ray release (below) of the film along with the original Italian version on DVD (above). The US release has an awful orange tint throughout and the image is stretched. I still can't believe people put up with the ugly US copy. Many are happy with it. It's mind boggling when the DVD version is better than the Blu-ray one.
Here are all the different versions I have (when I published the article)

The DVD image is simply superb and one to admire at length. I wonder why it has been cropped top and bottom and is missing information on the left when compared with the Blu-ray release. Both images are very close but not an exact match (note the position of the shadow on his left forearm). Reg Park made a very good, naturalistic and believable Hercules.
Can you tell me which DVD you're referring to, please?
There are a couple of DVDs released in Europe. The DVD I was referencing about in this post is the DVDrip at Rarelust. Google Rarelust and Hercules and the Captive Women and you can check it out there.
Yes, the DVD is excellent but unfortunately cropped.
