A question on Peplum 'arena crowd' scenes: What technique is being used here specifically when the camera first pans up to reveal the spectators? I always thought matte paintings or background drops always required a static camera. Only the later longshots of the 'crowd' show some movement in the bottom row and of course that guard up top. Great action clip, good close-ups, mainly filmed from below and above to avoid having to show the crowd.
