Matte paintings from A THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS (1945)
Simple and yet effective matte shots. The top shot appeared in other movies. These shots really don't last that long on screen. Making these paintings took hours only to appear for a few seconds in the final cut. The movie was nominated for an Oscar for its special effects. Lawrence Butler was responsible for these.
