I have both the English and Italian versions of Hercules in the Haunted World, and it seems that Chris Lee was dubbed by another actor in both. Which is a pity because of his own commanding voice; it would've fitted the villainous Lico perfectly. The movie is beautifully shot and very atmospheric. However, the underworld of the title is surprisingly sparsely populated, compared to the monster-infested hell of Goliath and the Dragon. I suppose it was very audacious of Bava to attack such a subject with a minuscule budget. The resulting film is still a real testament to his skill as a cinematographer and storyteller.
