Lex Barker and Anna Maria Ferrero in CAPTAIN FALCON (1958)
Anna Maria Ferrero died last week at the age of 84. She did just a couple of PEPLUM movies as she starred mainly in films set contemporary times. She's not Lex's love interest in this but a supporting character. Her career started in the early 1950s so by the time she peaked, the PEPLUM genre exploded. RIP.

Lex Barker had a distinguished US Army record in WWII. He was married five times, including to Arlene Dahl and Lana Turner. Lex died of a heart attack at age 54 in Manhattan.
In the US he played in several Tarzan movies and westerns. However, he found his greatest professional success in Europe, especially in Germany. Lex spoke French, Spanish, and Italian and knew some German.
He was excellent in THE EXECUTIONER OF VENICE. In Germany he appeared in numerous films based on the novels of Karl May. These included THE WILD MEN OF KURDISTAN and FURY OF THE SABERS.
I would love to see these two movies, but they do not seem to be available in decent quality English language DVDs.
