Georges Marchal, as Ulysses, is escorted by troll guards to his jail cell in ULYSSES AGAINST HERCULES (1962)
The first time I saw this film in a grainy, muddy copy, I was sorta confused by it. I didn't get it. But once I saw it in its original widescreen format, in beautiful color, I finally got what the director tried to do. It's now one of my favourite PEPLUM film. Georges gives one of the best performances in any film of the PEPLUM genre. The right balance of heroism, intelligence and empathy. He makes the movie! The location, great supporting cast and score are all good.

George looked like an older version of Kirk Morris who incidentally starred in another Hercules, Samson and Ulysses peplum flick! Both films have good wrestling/fight scenes I reckon.
The Bird Queen and her Bird Warriors are among the weirdest characters in all Peplum-dom!
Rivaled by the Yuri-Men in TRIUMPH OF MACISTE/SON OF HERC, the Lizard Men in VULCAN, SON OF JUPITER, and the metal-banging goons in THUNDERING ECHOES, but nothing beats the Bird Men IMO.
Finally contributed via PayPal ... thanks for the Fan Dubs, if ever a movie is in need of a decent WS it's PHARAOH'S WOMAN, the existing P-S dub is the worst out there. You'll do the world a great service ...
Thanks ...
