Richard Harrison is confronted by George Martin in the arena while his partner José Marco lies helpless in THE INVINCIBLE GLADIATOR (1961)
Aside from the obvious low production values (the costumes are sorta cheap looking) and the studio bound sets, this is a very cool PEPLUM. Fast paced and with some good characters you can root for. Richard is in top form. I prefer it over his better know films, like GLADIATORS SEVEN, even though the latter had a bigger budget.
I think I've said this before, but RH had an amazingly beautiful body in his prime (NTM a very handsome face). Not at all like the bulkier, body builder type that many find offputting or even grotesque in peplums. There are glimpses of it in Revolt of the Pretorians (like the one you had once upon a time in one of your banners), but mostly he was completely covered up in his peplum films. He may have been in top form in IG, but the physical form was again covered up. Surprising (and disappointing) that they didn't exploit the h*ll out of it.
