French poster of THE SWORD AND THE CROSS (aka Slave of Carthage ; 1956)

One of the first color PEPLUM films made in Italy. This starred a pre-HERCULES Gianna Maria Canale. The film was released 4 years later in the US.

    First class poster!

    Attractive young slave women in chains are an essential part of the Peplum genre.

    However, as I have noted previously, the blinding of one of the women is a real negative for me. It would have been much better if Gianna had simply whipped her.
