Beautiful artwork. I like tis film even though everyone seems to hate it. One of the few PEPLUM films of the 19040s

    There is some unpleasant racism in the beginning (comical and cowardly blacks).

    Furthermore Claude Rains is not a very convincing Cesar.
    It was largely a box office failure in both the USA and UK.
