By the Gods!

Anthar (Kirk Morris) rescues Princess Soraya (Michèle Girardon) in ANTHAR THE INVINCIBLE

The mute boy is played by Roberto Dell'Acqua. Fun film even though it's mostly studio bound.  Michèle Girardon's film career was short-lived since she committed suicide a few years later. Kirk was in great demand when he made this film after the success of HERCULES, SAMSON & ULYSSES. None of the films he made after the later film was as successful.

I agree it is a fun Arabian Nights type fantasy flick. Unfortunately, however, it seems to be available only in terrible physical quality.

Perhaps it has gone into public domain, so nobody has any possible financial incentive for restoring it.

In my view, movie public domain is very much a "two edged sword," unlike the case with printed books.

Fellini's SATYRICON (1969)is the only Peplum film that I know of that accurately shows the very elaborate hairstyles and makeup of wealthy Roman women.

Upper class women wanted to keep their complexions as light as possible so as to avoid even remotely looking like people (both free and enslaved) who got tanned by outdoor activities.

Roman ladies would often have one of their body slaves apply white lead facial makeup for this purpose. The health consequences of this lead - and the use of lead wine pitchers - were doubtless very negative.
