There are two movies entitled "The Sword and the Cross."
The first one (1956) stars Gianna in her usual role as a Patrician villainess.
I love Gianna, but this flick went too far by having one of the two slavegirls blinded on Gianna's order. Having the slave whipped personally by Gianna would have been better.
A different Pepulum film was made in 1958 with Yvonne de Carlo (also one of my favourites!) as a successful prostitute who "comes to Jesus."
An entry in the IMDB confuses the cover art of the two films.

Free English subtitles are available on the Internet for "Le Schiave Di Cartagenie."
ReplyDeleteIt would certainly be great if you could combine them with the film (hopefully a decent copy) and play the full version on Peplum.TV
