Anthar (Kirk Morris) is caught in a dizzying hall of mirrors, and tormented by Ganor (Mario Feliciani) in ANTHAR THE INVINCIBLE (aka Devil of the Desert vs the Son of Hercules)
This scene is visually interesting even though it doesn't really work. Most of the time it's pretty obvious the two actors are simply standing next to each other. I give this scene a B+ for being different and for the visuals. This scene was copied 20 years later in CONAN THE DESTROYER.
This is one of the better "sand and sandals" movies. Unfortunately it has been available in the USA only in horrible copies (virtually unwatchable).
ReplyDeleteGood slave market scenes, which are as essential as dancing sequences for any Peplum or Arabian Nights type flick.
"The Desert Hawk" starring Yvonne de Carlo is the best Arabian Nights fantasy movie in my view.
I haven't seen this movie - but this photo is intriguing. Could this scene have been the inspiration for Bruce Lee's climatic face-off with the villain in "Enter The Dragon?"
