Antiope (Elissa Landi) and Theseus (David Manners) confront Hercules (Tiny Sandford) in THE WARRIOR'S HUSBAND (1933)
This film is impossible to get. It does exist...somewhere. Anyway, this is one of the first films which shows Hercules, albeit in a supporting role. The first feature length film about Hercules would appear 35 years later and made in Italy : Hercules starring Steve Reeves. It's amazing that such a mythical character inspired so few films prior to the Reeves / Francisci epic. Elissa Landi was also in SIGN OF THE CROSS just a year before.

Great photo! The film is based on the 1932 Broadway play which featured the young Katharine Hepburn in her breakthrough role as Antiope.
I saw on IMDB that there is a 16mm print at the Modern Museum of Art in New York. I guess it's still there, and I'm sure Fox has a copy hidden in its vaults.
Looks like great fun! Too bad it's not available at this point in time.
