Julie Newmar's (uncredited) dance while painted in gold is by far the best thing in this rather undistinguished flick. Fortunately this scene can be found on the Internet.
I am getting a copy of this from a friend when I see him next, looking forward to it, also Princess of the Nile with Debra Paget & Jeff Hunter, and I am waiting for my order of Colossus and the Amazon Queen (Rod Taylor & Ed Fury, 1960) to be delivered.
Hey Michael, Serpent of the Nile is a B-movie so don't expect too much but it's entertaining enough. It was directed by William Castle.
Princess of the Nile is almost the same thing. One of those Matinee films they used to make back in the day. Fun B-movie with a sexy couple. It's not very Egyptian though.
Colossus and the Amazon Queen, in widescreen, has better production values and cast (the dance sequence is insane!) and it's a comedy about war of the sexes. Very lightweight and breezy!

Male cast members are pretty weak.
