Henry de Valois (Gianni Garko) places his tied hands over an open fire to burn the ropes around his wrists in THE MONGOLS (1961)
This scene is dramatic but it also doesn't make much sense: after burning his hands and the ropes are gone he goes to Stephen de Crakow (Franco Silva, not shown) to chew his ropes to set Stephen free. This begs the question: why didn't Henry just ask other prisoners around to chew his ropes off to set him free or ask someone near Stephen to do the same. Entertaining film nonetheless.
Oddly enough, this is not the only burning-ones-hands scene in PEPLUM films.
