New BBC series based on the Alexandre Dumas novel with loads of action, explosions, etc. You'd think that after the tepid box office results of the THE THREE MUSKETEERS movie made in 2011 and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson would have discouraged anyone to adapt that
often filmed story again but no. It's looks action packed for sure.
No matter how many times they film it, as they seem to do every decade, they won't top Richard Lester's 1973 brace of films, which have everything one could want from the stories, not least Dunaway as Milady, Heston as Richelieu, and Christopher Lee at full throttle, let alone Oliver Reed and Michael York both ideal as Musketeers.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The Lester Musketeer films have it all. This one looks confusingly similar to the Anderson film. Porthos's even got the same type of sword.
