Hercules vs Antaeus vase by Euphronios

Heracles and Antaeus, red-figured krater by Euphronios which is on display at the Louvre. It's one of a kind and considered a masterpiece.

From Wikipedia:

"The story of Antaeus has been used as a symbol of the spiritual strength which accrues when one rests one's faith on the immediate fact of things. The struggle between Antaeus and Heracles is a favorite subject in ancient and Renaissance sculpture."

The legendary fight was reproduced twice in PEPLUM films and in some TV shows or productions. One of those fights already made it on the 30 GREATEST MOMENTS OF PEPLUM CINEMA list. What rank will the other one be listed at? Stay tuned.

Here's the entire artwork seen on the vase
