I could have posted this as Technical Goof post: in this photo but also clearly visible in the film itself, you can see the animal trainer behind the elephant telling it what to do. The trainer is seen in the film but when Goliath stops the big animal you see the trainer and his stick guiding the elephant to crouch down. Oops...

You'd think they would have at least put the trainer in a costume so if he was spotted it wouldn't look so weird. Guess they didn't worry about stuff like that back in those days.
