Whenever they show a walled city in PEPLUM films I'm always disappointed by the complete lack of landscaping around said cities. First of all their should be foot marks everywhere or at least near the entrance. There should be signs of life somewhere but alas it's never present. The recent BEN-HUR mini-series had a nice walled city (link) but the landscaping is still missing for the most part even if they added some donkeys and people mingling about.
