To clarify, all the numbers on the cover refer to dates. Those titles relating to peplum are as follows:
In the left column: HYAMPOLIS 500 BC. The Phocians crush the cavalry of Thessaly. (The cover image presumably relates to this.) SELLASIA 222 BC. Sparta against Macedonia.
Along the bottom: Great Adversaries: The Battle of Adrianople (378 AD).
