Photo of the Day

Maciste (Kirk Morris) is summoned out of the rock by a High Priest (Nando Tamberlani) in MACISTE IN THE VALLEY OF THUNDERING ECHO (that's my title, the US title is a boring "Hercules of the Desert")

Probably the only PEPLUM showing Maciste as a supernatural entity that can be summoned from anywhere. In other films, Maciste just shows up to help people in need but here the High Priest makes an incantation after a quasi-Jesus like ritual asking for his help. I like this.

    Now that is interesting. Maciste is one of my favorite Peplum characters and his ability to show up anywhere in any time is part of his appeal.
