A demonstration of how to recycle a film with a 4:3 aspect ratio, this example being THEODORA - SLAVE EMPRESS and crop it into a widescreen format, as seen in GOLIATH & THE SINS OF BABYLON.

There is hardly any original footage (or idea) in GOLIATH & THE SINS OF BABYLON. Aside from THEODORA (which I would like to see released on DVD with restored image - if nothing else, for the chariot race filmed on location), it also heavily "borrowed" scenes from CARTHAGE IN FLAMES (and I am sure, some other films as well). It is more like a cluster of teasers than a film on its own...
I liked GOLIATH & THE SINS OF BABYLON even though it used a lot of stock footage from other movies. I also would like to get a good DVD of THEODORA and CARTHAGE IN FLAMES. Do you know where they can be found?

I got the German DVD of CARTHAGE IN FLAMES, but I was very disappointed in its picture quality; unpleasant, blurry, and dark at places.
The German DVD of CARTHAGE has an English audio. I've never seen a dvd for THEODORA but I do have a beautiful Italian copy, maybe from a TV broadcast.
