Thulsa Doom's temple in CONAN THE BARBARIAN (1982)
When I saw this at the movies I remember thinking "did they forget the matte painting?!?!"
I mean that's the temple? Where's the rest? The rest is built inside the mountain but still I thought that, visually, the temple was a disappointment.

The Conan stories are more about ancient cities with white towers and great temples. But the movie is more about some short of "pre-historic" setting with some buildings throw into the desert.
By the way, the ruins of this things are still in Spain.
They should have built it on a more vertical mountain; then, it would have looked like just the entranceway to something much bigger. Now, it looks like it's the entire thing, and it seems too small.
