Leonora Ruffo and Franco Silva lead the army of Sheba towards Jerusalem in THE QUEEN OF SHEBA.
This is one of my all-time favorites. It's pure PEPLUM cinema. Even if it's in B&W it's a
very colorful film. While watching this film for the first time I had an epiphany: I realized how
much I loved these films and because it's basically a template for most of the future S&S films to
come I finally "go it" in regards to the genre, what it's supposed to be, its elements, where it's
coming from, how different they were compared to stuff made in Hollywood, etc. Pietro Francisci directed this film (and many more PEPLA) and I thank him for it.
